Farm Cubby

A few months ago I found this farm cubby. It was used to hold nuts, bolts, sprinkler
parts, etc. It had been in the barn for about 80 years. It took four men to load it in my horse trailer. When I got home, I put it in the driveway to gave it a good washing, it was dry and dirty. It got so water logged and heavy, that we could not move it into the store for about six weeks. It had to dry out. So I cover it with a tarp and hoped it would dry out in the cold winter. It took several men to move it in the store because it was still damp. For a better display of my items, I turned it upside down. It sure holds a lot of treasures.

My Favorite Single Number 5

I had the chance to buy some vintage street signs a while back. Years ago the signs were made with nice details. The letters are raised, the sign is all enamel and the shape is a humpback. The color is white with black numbers and letters with a black border. II have a collection of old coffee tins. I am going to keep one sign to hang above my collection (Coffee Villa Road).

Have a grate weekend, sandi
around the edges.

The Preacher's Bench

This bench was stained a light oak. It was painted an apple green. I wonder what the Pastor would think about the new color!

The Gas Bash 2011

I attended the recent Gas Bash in Escalon a few weeks ago. I always enjoy all of the signs and guy stuff. I did not find much for myself this year. It is always fun to walk
in the shop and look at all of the signs that the owner of the property displays. His shop so neat and clean, everything has a place and is in its place.

Gone are these beautiful enamel gas station signs. This family enjoys traveling the states to find their signs.

Remember the telephone booths? I have not seen one in years, do they even have pay phones anymore?

The woodwork and unique hardware was great. He must of had a good time making them.

The old tools have a new life for years to come on these drawers.

Iron Farm Cart

I found this old cart recently on a almond ranch in a pile of scrap metal. With a little welding it works fine again. I think it makes a great coffee table or maybe a table for plants on the patio. Years ago Escalon was a railroad town. I have seen carts like this one used for moving luggage. Who knows what this cart has been used for in the years past? I think it is a real cutie!

A Peek in The Pea

This hard rock maple hutch, is new to the store this week. The shutters on the door open and close. This piece would look so nice in a garden room?

This entry table has a great time worn patina on the top. The table would be nice as a sofa or entry piece.

This table will not be in the store very long. It is a real beauty!
