New Mexico and the Sunflower Seeds

This last week my husband and I met my parents, brother and sis-in-law and new baby, in the New Mexico Rockies. We stayed in a cabin and did some day trips around the Enchanted Circle and to Santa Fe. The terrain is diverse and very beautiful---from scrubby sagebrush to dense forests of tall evergreens and aspen.

Below is a picture of the back of the cabin that we all shared. Do you see that deck? Off of this back deck we saw wildlife galore---deer, elk, chipmunks, bats, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, and everything in between.

New Mexico happens to be one of the best bird-watching states in the U.S. I brought along some sunflower seeds and filled up the bird feeder located just off of the deck. In less than ten minutes, we were surprised by a very hungry visitor!

Have a bear-y blessed week!!
