Little Zack and Rusty Treasures

This is our new little fella Zack. He is enjoying meeting all of the family. The chickens, cats, dogs, sheep and many more friends. Mom said, "you need to get along or you can't be part of this family. So far so good, I seem to be getting along just fine.



Hey! do you see that Barney is sticking his tongue out at me? He thinks he is so smart sitting in the truck with all of the rusty treasures.........



Soon these will be in The Green Pea I am getting ready for Spring already. See the great Motel lawn chairs. Just look at the old wheelbarrow, it would be great to plant your flowers or herbs in.



Oh look! a old chippy screen door, iron beds, ironwork trim. Mr. Husband will be real happy to see all this go to the store. I wonder why he built a tall fence around my treasures?

A Peek in the Pea

When ever I see old luggage for sale I usually buy it. My husband always asks me what are you going to do with another suitcase? I own about 45 of them right now, they are in the basement. I love to store my linens in them. I just selected six of them to sell. It is difficult to let any of them go. I love them all......

This is a very old school desk with a drawer under the set. It is solid oak and soooo heavy, I have not seen one like this before.

Just found this lovely black wire birdcage. We used a white one at my son's wedding to put the wedding cards in. It looked very nice on the gift table.

A Party at The Green Pea

This is my dear friend Terry. She offered to help set the tables for our Family Christmas Party. She called it playing and came to the store four days and played all by herself. Thank you, my very special friend. I would have never have made it without your help.... The store was very busy and I helped the customers while Terry puttered around the tables always with a lovely smile. She even gave me a hand when I got to busy with customers.

Terry used three sets of different white dishes that I had. She mixed and matched them using green and white dish towels as napkins on a burlap table cloth. There was three long tables with 30 place settings, it was beautiful. I wish I had taken more pictures.


Here are a few of my wonderful sister in-laws chatting with each other. It was a happy and cheerful evening for all. Outside there were hundreds of parents with their children watching the Santa Parade on Main Street. After the parade was over the children roasted marshmallows and had hot chocolate into the evening. We could see them in the park across for the store. Seems as we were all having a good time. Talk about festive!

A couple more sisters. They made a joke to me about ordering The Santa Parade for the Christmas dinner. I told them, Oh! it was nothing just some of my friends that wanted to help make the evening fun.....

Love My New Camera

I have a BIG problem. Sweet little daughter bought a new camera for me a few weeks ago. Oh! I love it, it is fun to point and click. What color do you think she bought for me? Yep, green! My favorite color. It is nice small so I can put it in my pocket and carry it anywhere. My other camera was so big and heavy, I hated to carry it around unless I knew I was going to use it for sure. So many times I would say, " I wish I had taken my camera with me." Now I have no excuses for not taking it with me all of the time. It has been fun snapping pictures of everthing all around town. The only problem now is___ I down loaded the pictures and put them on the computer today. But where are they?? How do I find them? Tomorrow I will call my son and have him stop by and help me find them.... Hopefully soon I will post some pictures of the Family Christmas party at The Green Pea. Let me just say, we had soooooo much fun. Good evening.

Christmas Dinner

Mr. Pea comes from a very large family and is one of twelve children. In the last decade, his siblings have begun a wonderful tradition where they each take turns hosting a Christmas dinner. We look forward to it every December. This year, it is our turn!

Country Living

I thought it would be fun to host our family dinner inside The Green Pea Boutique. For the last two weeks, I have been rearranging my store and moving furniture around in order to make way for buffet tables and dinner tables and places to sit while grazing on hors d'oeuvres. Yesterday I had a dear friend come by and help me iron table cloths and napkins, then decorate the tables. So much work but we are almost there! Saturday the family will begin rolling into town for our big evening together, church the next morning, then a lunch before they head home.

I am very excited.
